LIFESTYLE | There’s A New Baccarat London’s Harrods

The famed French crystal brand Baccarat has just opened an ultra-glamorous bar in London’s most famous department store, Harrods.

There’s a new reason to pop into Harrods on your next trip to London and that’s new Baccarat Bar. Cocooned on the lower-ground level of the famed Knightbrisge flagship (with a street entrance on Hand Crescent), the sleek Baccarat Bar opened in July with a modified capacity for just 23 guests.

Best known for its dine crystal glassware crafted in Baccarat, France, the prestige brand was acquired by Staewood Capital Group in 2005, which was followed by the opening of the Baccarat Hotel in New York, as well as food and beverage offerings in Milan, Moscow and Tokyo.

With opulent interior by Fabled Studio, the new jewel-box space shines to a high sheen with signature Russian red flourishes and crystal galore. Theatricality comes care of tactile was dressed in leather and velvet upholstery, plus dramatic crystial lighting and marble flooring.

Helmed by Cameron Attfield, one of 2019’s World Vlas Bartenders, the Baccarat Bar serves twenty signature drinks (with four non-alcoholic options) all in Baccarat glassware. The cocktails are created around the theme of refracting light, and the menu is dividend into seven colors (with two cocktails per color). For example, try the Starry Nights out of the ‘Blue’ section, which is crafted with Beluga Gold Line Vodka, sake, black rice milk distillate, lacto-fermented rock melon, sesame, Chablis and caviar and served in Baccarat Harcourt Talleyrand Tumblers.

If you presser your glassware a bit more dramatic, try The Arrival off the menu’s ‘White’ section, which is made with carbonated Hendricks Gin, sugar-snap distillate, fermented pea and rice oil and  served in a blood-red Mille Nuits Flutissimo glasses, which are available for purchase at £530 per pair. All glassware is available at Harrods’ Baccarat boutique on the third floor.

The cocktail menu will evolve every six months to include the concoctions of guest bartenders. Food, crafted by Harrods’ in-house culinary team, is also available. The Baccarat Bar in Harrods is now open and reservations are now available.
