CORONAVIRUS ALERT | Saudi Arabia Confirms 1,522 New Cases, Eight Deaths

RIYADH – Saudi Arabia reported 1,522 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 27,011 and the virus-related death toll to 184, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.

Out of the newly detected cases, 19 percent are Saudi Arabian nationals and 81 percent are non-Saudi residents, healthy minister spokesman Mohammed al-Abd Al – Ali said.

Meanwhile, 16 percent of the new cases are female and 84 percent are male, he added.

The elderly make up only 2 percent of the new cases, children make up 5 percent, and adults make up 93 percent.

Eight people died in the last 24 hours, including two Saudi citizens in Dammam and Jeddah, and six non-Saudis in Mecca, Riyadh, and Medina.

They were between the ages of 32 to 84 years old, al – Abd al-Ali said. Most of them suffered from chronic illnesses.
