RIYADH | SAUDI ARABIA – – Saudi Arabia renewed on Tuesday its call on the international community to boost all efforts aimed at combating nuclear terrorism.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired a cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.
The ministers stressed the need to focus greater attention on nuclear terrorism, given the tensions in the region and spread of terrorist groups and militias.
Media Minister Turki al-Shabanah said the cabinet addressed Arab, regional and international development, underscoring the Kingdom’s firm stance on efforts aimed at achieving global security and stability.
Saudi Arabia had during its recent participation at the International Conference on Nuclear Security in Vienna underlined its support for international resolutions related to nuclear terrorism.
Riyadh is keen on ensuring that nuclear security would be one of the main elements of its national peaceful atomic energy program.
Addressing the new coronavirus outbreak, the cabinet expressed its confidence that China will be able to overcome the epidemic. King Salman had voices this stance during a telephone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week.
He had ordered the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) to provide urgent aid to Beijing to address the crisis.
The cabinet praised King Salman for his gesture, saying it reflects the solid bilateral relations enjoyed between Saudi Arabia and China. It also reflects the Kingdom’s humanitarian role and its support for various crisis – ridden countries through KSRelief.
